I am one of the four partners at Stipo.

2011: Within Stipo, I increasingly find myself specializing in topics regarding the city and its connection with its people and the built environment. Besides these specializations, I function as the office business director, making me responsible for the internal and financial office management at Stipo during these exciting and dynamic economic times.
Projects I am currently involved in include:
• Social analysis of a new housing estate in Vrachelen, local authority Oosterhout: Applying quantitative and qualitative analyses to gain insight on the inhabitants and their ways of life (using methods obtained from urban anthropology). This will contribute to creating a social vision for the neighbourhood and will also be used as input for the programming of a new concept for the collaborating groups focusing on youth and children. This project is carried out together with my colleague Ester Heiman.
• Economic vision, local authority Goedereede: Drawing up an economic vision for the ‘Kop van Goeree'. In collaboration with entrepreneurs and other organizations, such as the Chamber of Commerce and the district. This project is carried out together with my colleagues Jeroen Laven and Sander van der Ham.
• City-district vision Hoensbroek, Heerlen: Drawing up a city-district vision and implementation plan for this shrinking region, in assignment for the local authority Heerlen, ‘Woonpunt & De Voorzorg' Housing Association, the Parkstad Limburg city-region and the province of Limburg.
• Process guidance and community participation ‘Groene Oase': Natural playgrounds in Zaandam New-West (see: ‘Leefwijk Zaandam Nieuw-West'). In assignment for the local authority Zaanstad.

2009/2010: Excited and delighted to be part of the Business Breeding Zone ‘Westerdok'. Between 2009-2010 I am involved in various projects, mainly in the Amsterdam city-region, but also in the Zuid-Holland province and the shrinking region Limburg.
2008: The switch at Stipo from 'real consultancy firm' to 'knowledge and consultancy team'. Wonderful to see how our group of enthusiastic people grow and thrive, attracting inspiring people and challenges/assignments!
2006: Launch of my personal site, www.pluraal.nl; a project for the rest of my life, where I want to pass on my passion for life, show the wonderful developments of these exciting times and spotlight popular philosophical thinking.
2004: Become a partner in October in order to give a new impetus to Stipo together with Hans and Arie. Life is more and more inspiring! Personal ambitions to produce a second home-made CD ("Care") conflict with my personal ambitions for Stipo (but the demo has seen the light of day: it will happen in the end...)
2001: Sadly, we have to say farewell to Geer Koopmans at the end of a debilitating illness. One of Stipo's main inspirational forces has left us. A difficult time for Stipo, that the team and above all Hans got through admirably.
autumn of 1997: I join Stipo. A great job to start in; right first time. Large projects like HOP (Hoeksche Waard Omgevingsplan), the regional business park there, but also my first jobs on my own with municipal authorities like Montfoort and Binnenmaas.
summer of 1997: Finally graduated in urban regional planning with my dissertation on: "What are we really talking about"; a surprised look at the unusual products from planners in the Netherlands.
1996: Produced first home-made CD with musician friends: "Sympathy and distrust".
1995: Meet Geer Koopmans, a teacher at the University of Amsterdam and a great inspirer. I worked as his teaching assistant and he taught me many skills and insights. Made many friends whom I still see regularly.
1992-1997: Student in Amsterdam: Planology at the University of Amsterdam. A great time. As well as the studies, there was the philosophy in the pub with friends as a favourite way of passing the time, and the "Amazing Meezing hours" were a major success. After a time as the FeBo chairman (parties and social committee), I moved on to become chairman of the Het Groene Hart student association.
1990-1991: With the school band, I won the Minerva games in Groningen twice, played in the German twin town of Lünen, made a video for sociology about "Youth and Alcohol" with humorous sketches, spent time in the video club and the school paper and learnt "all about the girls". In short, a school year worth repeating...
1985: Indignant that the Zwolle municipal authority decided to plant trees on the basis of a plan made from behind a desk. The rule was 'one tree every yard' and so they put one straight in front of the shop door. Ridiculous... we managed to put a stop to that!
1980: I was always drumming on chairs and sofas, so I got a real drum set for my eighth birthday. The young Kees started to work on his musical skills.
1972: Born as the son of a baker in a rapidly changing 19th-century station neighbourhood. A wonderful place to grow up as the youngest child, with two sisters: a close and warm family.
