Stipo collates knowledge about urban development and distributes it, whenever possible, in an open source approach. We do this through concept development, training, practical projects, knowledge meetings and this site. For Stipo, the site is an important medium for the exchange of knowledge and insights from our projects and for encouraging discussion and interaction. We also want to use the site as a platform for passing on the views of others.
How does it work?
The home page provides an impression of the latest and most recent articles on the site. At the top, there is the header (see illustration), where we spotlight specific themes and articles. The home page comprises three columns.

The left-hand column is the navigation section with the site's main index, the search window, and links allowing you to move quickly to a number of articles we have selected.

The central column lists the latest and new articles with insights we want to share with you.

And the right-hand column contains a selection of articles covering projects Stipo is working on.
Finding your way around
The main index allows access to the site via six categories grouping the relevant articles. Clicking on the illustrations takes you to an article. The sub-categories can also be found here. This allows you to search intuitively from a particular angle for what we have to say about those subjects.
Under "quick link??", we have drawn up a selection of categories and articles that we want to draw to your attention. And, at the top left, there is of course a search window: enter a keyword and see if there are any hits.
Stipo uses this structure to invite the reader to make links between the various articles and look at things in greater depth. So you can respond directly to an article or forward it. There is also a print option here.
Sharing knowledge
We have made a deliberate decision not to cover the whole field, and to concentrate on knowledge and insights that provide inspiration, that are distinctive. If there is a project, event or idea that you want to forward through our site, you can do so by responding to an article or by choosing the contact option under "quick links" in the left-hand column.
